No roads, no towns...just wilderness and wildlife. Climb into the floatplane and take off from Prince Rupert, BC for a 20 minute flight over mountains and inlets to the Khutzeymateen.

Join us in Canada's only grizzly bear protected area as we explore the lush Khutzeymateen inlet and estuary, viewing grizzly bears in their wild habitat. We move with the tides to view and photograph the beauty of the fjord and the rainforest with bald eagles, seals, seabirds, waterfalls and mountains. We are out exploring and bear viewing in our 24 foot roofed zodiac for an average of 5-6 hours every day. In the summer months (July, August, September) we also explore the coast outside the inlet where humpback whales congregate to feed.

The tour includes an orientation by the BC Parks K'tzim-a-deen Rangers at the Visitor Centre where you will learn about Tsimshian culture and history.

At the lodge you can relax by the fire, take out a kayak or paddle board, have a wood-fired sauna or fish off the dock - we have the fishing gear, you just need a
tidal waters fishing licence
